We are seeking a Construction Recovery & Site Reinstatement Specialist to lead the physical rebuilding and structural recovery of our facilities following major disruptions. This is a high-intensity, on-site role for a project manager who understands the "muck and gut" of large-scale construction—stripping compromised infrastructure down to the studs and executing a rapid, compliant reconstruction. If you have deep expertise in building codes, structural integrity, and the logistical grit to manage subcontractors while coordinating under extreme time constraints, this is an outstanding opportunity to restore our physical foundation and ensure our long-term resilience.
Key Responsibilities
Structural Assessment: Lead rapid, forensic inspections of damaged facilities to identify safety hazards, structural instabilities, and the full scope of required demolition and repair.
Site Remediation (Muck and Gut): Oversee the complete clearance of debris and contaminated materials, ensuring the site is safely gutted and prepared for reconstruction according to environmental and safety standards.
Reconstruction Management: Direct all phases of the rebuild, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and structural repairs, ensuring work is performed to code and ahead of aggressive timelines.
Subcontractor Oversight: Coordinate and supervise specialized trade teams (e.g., steelworkers, electricians, hazard remediation crews), ensuring high-quality output and strict adherence to safety protocols.
Resource & Logistics: Manage the procurement of construction materials, heavy machinery, and onsite temporary support infrastructure (e.g., temporary power, water, sanitation).
Compliance & Permitting: Ensure all demolition and construction activities remain in full compliance with local building ordinances, environmental regulations, and insurance-driven documentation requirements.
Cost & Progress Reporting: Track project milestones, manage budget variances in a crisis environment, and provide daily status updates to stakeholders on recovery timelines.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., PMP, OSHA-30) are highly preferred.
Experience: 5+ years of field construction experience, with at least 2 years specifically focused on disaster recovery, facility renovation, or emergency structural repair.
Technical Skills:
Expertise in reading blueprints, architectural drawings, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) schematics.
Strong knowledge of industrial hazard mitigation and site safety (asbestos/mold remediation, structural shoring).
Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera) and digital site tracking tools.
Personal Attributes:
Operational Grit: Proven ability to lead teams in chaotic, post-disaster environments without sacrificing safety or quality.
Decisiveness: Ability to make critical structural decisions on the fly when plans must change to accommodate unforeseen damage.
Communication: Strong ability to bridge the gap between technical construction requirements and business stakeholder recovery needs.
Detail-Oriented: Commitment to precise documentation for insurance and regulatory compliance, ensuring that "rebuilt" means "built better."
